Troubleshooting: “Empty Water Tank” Error

Troubleshooting: “Empty Water Tank” Error

Why This Error Occurs

The machine will show “Empty Water Tank” when it detects no water flow regardless of whether it uses a tank or plumbed-in connection.

This message is triggered by:

  • No water in the tank (if using water tank)
  • Incorrect water source setting (e.g. set to water tank when plumbed)
  • Mains water supply is turned off or disrupted
  • Kinked or disconnected water inlet hose
  • Faulty water level sensor or float

Incorrect water source setting (e.g. set to water tank when plumbed)

Step 1: Confirm Water Supply

  • If plumbed in: ensure the tap is open and the hose is not kinked or disconnected
  • If using a tank: make sure it’s full and seated properly

Step 2: Check Water Source Setting

  • Access the service menu
  • Navigate to Water Supply Mode (log a ticket to support if a code is required)
  • Set to:
    • Plumbed/Mains if connected to mains water
    • Tank if using the internal tank
⚠️ If set incorrectly, the machine will trigger false errors

Step 3: Restart the Machine

  • Power off completely
  • Wait 10 seconds
  • Turn back on and let it reinitialize

Step 4: Run a Rinse or Test Cycle

  • Run a rinse or hot water cycle to test for restored flow

If the Error Persists

  • There may be a sensor fault, scale build-up, or an internal issue
